Applied Research Scientist
Molecular Sensing, Inc. is developing commercial products and services based on a new free-solution, label-free technology and is seeking experienced assay and applications development laboratory scientists to work with our applied research, sales and marketing teams in our laboratories in Nashville, Tennessee near Vanderbilt University and the Frankfurt area, Germany.
Requirements: The successful candidate will: design, develop, and perform bio-analytical ligand-target binding assays in the area of pharmaceutical drug discovery and target characterization; work with marketing personnel to primarily implement drug discovery technical collaboration projects with pharmaceutical clients; assist in the generation of marketing and sales materials; contribute to the creation of intellectual property and technical know-how; interface with R&D scientists and engineers on product development; and demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism in establishing, managing and maintaining effective client-company communications.
Qualifications: This position requires a PhD degree (or MS with extensive experience) in a relevant biological discipline (biophysics, cell biology, pharmacology, biochemistry), and significant work experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry or academic research related to drug discovery. Experience in the design and development of biological ligand-target binding assays using Surface Plasmon Resonance, ITC and Fluorescence based assays. Acknowledged skill in creative, early stage assay development and analytical bench skills are a plus. Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills, as well as the ability to work as an effective team member is a must. The successful candidate must be a self-motivated scientist, with demonstrated enthusiasm and curiosity in his/her scientific work.

Office Manager/Executive Assistant
Molecular Sensing, Inc. is a development stage drug discovery instrument & services company currently seeking an Office Manager/Executive Assistant to work, half-time leading to full-time, in the Nashville/Downtown area.
The position reports to the CEO. Successful applicant will work independently, with limited supervision, co-ordinate handling a variety of administrative functions including bookkeeping, payroll, payables, health insurance, workers’ compensation claims, executive travel, meeting arrangements, client communication and event scheduling and administering company policies. Experience in NIH grant administration is a plus.
Requirements
- 3-4 years executive administrative and bookkeeping skills/experience
- Strong attention to detail, organization, ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to deal with sensitive and/or confidential information
- Microsoft Office & Quickbooks (or equivalent) proficiency
